NC’s ward convention likely to postpone
KATHMANDU: The ward level convention of the ruling Nepali Congress, which was scheduled to be held on September 3, is likely to postpone.
Top-notch leaders of the party have reached an agreement to hold the ward convention on September 7.
The preparations have been made to make some changes in the schedule of the local convention of the Nepali Congress.
Taking the current situation into consideration, the leaders have agreed to postpone the ward convention for four days,” said a leader of the Nepali Congress(NC).
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel on Thursday discussed issues including the demands of district presidents.
Deuba and Poudel have also agreed to address the demands of the district chairperson to hold the ward convention on September 3 if possible or postpone it for September 7.
There is no immediate decision on whether the ward convention will be held on September 3 or 7.
The decision to hold the ward convention on September 7 will be prepared as soon in coordination with the Election Commission as the full list of active members has already been made public.
