Court extends custody of 12 individuals including Khand by four days (video)

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court on Sunday granted the District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu permission to extend the custody of the former Home Minister Khand including 12 individuals by four days.

The District Government Attorney’s Office earlier had requested a four-day custody extension from the court to complete the investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Police have already made high-profile arrests over their alleged connections to the scam and they are former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and government secretary Tek Narayan Pandey.

So far 12 people have been arrested over the scam while others three accused former Deputy Prime Minister and CPN (UML) secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Neeraj Rai, the son of Indrajit,  and UML Vice-chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa’s son Prateek have been on the run since the warrant issued against them.
