Independent lawmaker Kiran Sah joins UML

KATHMANDU: Kiran Sah, who had won the parliamentary election as an independent candidate from Rautahat-2, joined the CPN-UML on Monday.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli welcomed him by offering khada, a traditional ceremonial scarf.

With this, the UML’s one seat has increased in the House of Representatives.

Sah secured 32, 842 votes while his closest contender Phirdos Alam of the Nepali Congress obtained 28, 248 votes.

He had become the candidate from the then Federal Socialist Forum in 2017.
