DSP senior leaders decide to join coalition government

KATHMANDU: The Democratic Socialist Party (DSP) has decided to join the coalition government.

A meeting of the senior leaders of the party held in Kathmandu has decided to join the coalition-led government.

Leader Sharad Singh Bhandari said that the DSP will certainly join the coalition government.

“We contested the elections from the coalition. There is no problem that we will join the government,” he said.

Chairman Mahantha Thakur and senior leader Rajendra Mahato among others were present in the meeting.

After the Janata Samajbadi Party left the coalition at the last hour of the elections, another Madhes-based party DSP, which joined the coalition the same day, forged electoral alliance only in some seats.

The DSP, which won four House of Representatives seats, however, failed to become the national party.
