Nepal defeated Kenya by 31 runs, win series

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Kenya by 31 runs in the final match of the T20I series played at Gymkhana Cricket Stadium in Nairobi of Kenya on Tuesday.

The series was tied at 2-2 before the final match. Nepal won the series 3-2 after defeating Kenya yesterday.

After winning the toss, Nepal elected to bat first. The team set a target of 176 runs for Kenya losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Gyanendra Malla scored the highest 59 runs with two sixes and five fours.

Similarly, Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed 47 runs for Nepal.

Likewise, Arjun Saud and Dipendra Singh Airee made 29 runs and 22 runs respectively.

While chasing the target of 176 runs set by Nepal, Kenya gathered only 144 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs.

Gyanendra Malla of Nepal was declared the player of the match while Nepali Captain Sandeep Lamichhane was named the player of the series.

Nepal will now play a one-day series of three games against Kenya. The first game is scheduled to be played on coming Friday.
