SC scraps writ petition filed by AIG Bishwo Raj Pokharel

KATHMANDU : The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday scrapped the writ petition filed by Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police(AIG) Bishwo Raj Pokharel against government’s decision to appoint Dhiraj Pratap Singh to the post of Inspector General of Nepal Police.

A joint bench of acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Kumar Chudal dismissed the writ filed by Pokharel.

AIG Pokharel had filed the writ at the apex court against the government saying that Singh was appointed the chief of Nepal Police by violating the seniority basis.

Earlier on May 1, the government had decided to promote Dhiraj Pratap Singh to the post of Inspector General of Nepal Police.
