Govt to enforce odd-even rule on vehicular movement from today midnight

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Offices (DAOs) of  Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have decided to enforce the odd-even rule for vehicles in Kathmandu Valley from today midnight to curb the spread of Covid-19.

A joint meeting of all the three DAOs of Kathmandu Valley held on Thursday made the decision to this effect.

The decision will come into effect from today midnight.

Earlier, the DAOs had issued a 16-point order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as per the lockdown procedure.

Now, the vehicles with odd registration numbers will have to operate on odd days and even registration on even days. The rule applies to both public and private vehicles.

Similarly, public vehicles will not be allowed to carry passengers more than their seat capacity.
