Nepal reports 24 new cases of Omicron variant

KATHMANDU: Nepal has recorded 24 new cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus.

Issuing a statement on Friday, the Health Ministry said that of the 1,146 samples collected in the month of December and January, the new variant of coronavirus was found in 24 persons.

Earlier, three persons had tested positive for the Omicron variant of coronavirus in Nepal.

The government has urged all the hospitals to be on high alert in the wake of rising cases of Omicron variant.
