PM Deuba extends greetings on Bibaha Panchami festival

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended best wishes to all brothers and sisters at home and abroad on the occasion of Bibaha Panchami festival on Wednesday.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that one can explore an exemplary sense of truth, good conduct, discipline, duty and social justice from the life of Lord Ram and Sita which is also a source of inspiration for us.

Nepal’s daughter, Sita, is a symbol of our glory and she possessed many things that we can learn from her ideal conducts, the message read.

The festival of Bibaha Panchami is celebrated to mark the auspicious day of the wedding anniversary of Sita of Janakpur and Ram of Ayodhya (India). The wedding took place on Marga Sukla Panchami, (November-December) hence, the day is called Bibaha Panchami.

The wedding of Ram and Sita is commemorated and their contributions are acknowledged in the Ramjanaki Temple with a weeklong religious events.

Prime Minister Deuba urged the revelers to celebrate the festival by fully adhering to the health safety protocol in the current context of COVID-19.

Deuba wished that the festival may encourage all of us to promote fraternity, good will and the sense of national unity. RSS
