3 hundi operators held with Rs 1.5 million

JANAKPURDHAM: Police have arrested three persons for allegedly running the illegal business of hundi (transfer of money through illegal channels to evade tax) and confiscated Rs 1.5 in cash from their possession.

The detainees have been identified as Bikram Patel (25) of Basantapur, Kangali-1, east Champaran district, India, Mukesh Patel (29) of Bhelahi, Motihari and Baliram Patel (23) of Hariharpur, Dhobini Rural Municipality-3, Parsa.

Police said that they were arrested from near Sirsiya Choti Customs Office in Birgunj Metropolitan City-25.

Police have also impounded three motorbikes with Indian registration number plates (Na 60 Pa 5998, Na 41 Pa 1048 and Na 64 Pa 8359).
