UML to slash number of representatives for statute convention

KATHMANDU:  The CPN-UML has decided to slash the number of representatives fixed for the statute convention.

Earlier, the party had selected 3000 representatives for its statute convention. Now, the party has decided to slash the number.

Saying that it will be difficult to manage the representatives, deputy general secretary of the party Bishnu Paudel, during the ongoing Central Committee meeting, proposed to reduce the number.

It has been learnt that there will be seven representatives including the office bearers of the district committee and five representatives will take part from the central department. Earlier, the party had decided to select 10 representatives from the central department.

Preparations are underway to slash the number from other departments as well.

The statute convention of the UML will be held in Godawari, Lalitpur from October 1 to October 3.

Earlier on September 24, the party had formed 10 groups to discuss various proposals to be submitted at the statute convention of the party.
