SC refuses to issue interim order against Kulman Ghising’s appointment

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to issue an interim order against the appointment of Kulman Ghising as the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

A single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana, however, issued a show-cause notice to the defendants saying that there was no need to issue an interim order against the appointment of Ghising.

Earlier on August 16, former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority Hitendra Dev Shakya had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the reappointment of Kul Man Ghising as the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity.

The government on August 9 reappointed Ghising as the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority.
