Landslide disrupts Helambu Highway

HELAMBU: Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in Melamchi Municipality 12 and 13 have disrupted the Helambu Highway, leaving many people stranded. 

 Vehicular movement along the Melamchi-Jirokilo road section has been obstructed due to landslides in Bahunepati, Melamchi-12 and Fatakshila in Melamchi-13.

According to Inspector Tilakram Rai of the Area Police Office, Melamchi, the power supply has been disrupted in Melamchi Bazaar among other places after the torrential rainfall uprooted an electric pole. 

Police said that they will clear the debris deposited on the roads soon to resume the vehicular movement.
