More than 20 million Covid-19 vaccines to arrive before Dashain
Kathmandu: The state minister for Health, Umesh Shrestha, has said that 25 million Covid-19 vaccine doses will be brought to Nepal before Dashain.
At a press conference held at the Ministry of Health on Sunday, Health Minister Shrestha informed that the vaccines are being procured through purchase and cost-sharing.
“We have moved ahead as per the commitment of the Prime Minister to vaccinate 100 percent Nepalis by April,” said Shrestha in the press conference.
He said that 4.4 million doses of the Vero Cell vaccine will be brought from China within 10 days.
The preparations have been made to bring 4 million Moderna vaccines and 6 million doses of Pfizer vaccines for children.
Health Minister Shrestha informed that 11.3 million doses of vaccine would be provided free of cost by Covax facility.
