Nepal Airlines aircraft flying to Beijing today to bring 1 million doses of Vero Cell vaccine
KATHMANDU: A flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation is going to Beijing today to bring 1 million doses of vaccine against COVID-19. The aircraft, which will take off at 2.30 PM, is preparing to land in Beijing at 11 PM.
The aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow afternoon with the doses of Vero Cell vaccine. Dim Prakash Poudel, Managing Director of the corporation, said that the corporation is preparing to fly every week for additional supply after bringing the first batch of vaccines on Friday.
“After bringing 1 million doses on Friday, there is a program to bring vaccines every week as per the schedule,” Poudel said. Nepal is about to bring 4 million doses of vaccine with Chinese vaccine Vero Cell manufacturer Sinopharm.
The Ministry of Health has informed that the vaccine will be given to citizens above 55 years of age.
