70th birth anniversary of Madan Bhandari being celebrated today
KATHMANDU: The 70th birth anniversary of the then CPN-UML General Secretary Madan Bhandari is being celebrated today.
On the occasion of Madan Jayanti, Madan Bhandari Foundation has organized a special program at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the program.
The Madan Bhandari Foundation has been organizing various awareness programs on the occasion of the birth anniversary.
Bhandari, then general secretary of the CPN (UML) and Jibaraj Ashrit, chief of the organization department, died in a jeep accident at Dasdhunga in Chitwan on 16th May 1993.
Bhandari was born on 27th June,1952 in Dhungesanghu, Taplejung.
Bhandari has made a special contribution to the democratization of the communist movement by bringing the ideological program of ‘People’s Multi-Party democracy’.
