Melamchi Bazar becomes risk-free after floods recede

KATHMANDU: The water level in Melamchi, which was flooded again on Friday night, has decreased. A local, Hasta Pandit, informed that the market area has become risk-free after the floods receded. 

According to him, Friday’s floods have caused further damage in Melamchi. It is estimated that more houses have been damaged due to the floods. “It is unknown at this time how much damage the second flood has done. It is becoming difficult to remove goods and property due to the floods. We are trying to do this,” Pandit told Nepal Press.

Dolalaghat of Kavrepalanchok is also out of danger now as the water level has decreased. According to Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri, Chief of the District Police Office, Kavre, no physical damage has been reported. “The water level has dropped since last night. The damage was minimal,” he said.
