Oxygen cylinders being brought from Oman, NAC making preparations for daily flights to Beijing

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation will soon send its A330 flight to Beijing to bring 550 oxygen cylinders every day. The aircraft of the corporation has reached different countries and is bringing essential medical supplies including oxygen cylinders.

Managing Director Dim Prakash Poudel said that an attempt is being made to go to Muscat next Saturday to get about 600 oxygen cylinders deposited in Oman in collaboration with the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the Nepali Embassy. 

Poudel said the flight was preparing to return from Muscat and fly to Beijing the same evening to collect about 400 oxygen concentrators, 400 cylinders and other medical supplies.

Poudel said that the oxygen problem would be solved within the next two weeks with the active participation of all the concerned bodies of the Government of Nepal.

“After that, we will send A330 aircraft to Beijing every day as 550 cylinders will be produced every day,” Poudel said. “All the ships of the corporation are kept in readiness to bring in supplies that may be available elsewhere.” 

Poudel said that the problem of oxygen shortage in Nepal would be solved within the next two weeks with active participation of all the concerned bodies of the Government of Nepal.
