Wide body aircraft flying to Beijing to fetch oxygen cylinders

KATHMANDU: The wide-body A330 aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation is flying to Beijing on 10th May to collect essential health supplies from China.

The corporation said it was preparing to fly to Beijing with a wide-body aircraft to collect oxygen cylinders and ventilators donated by the Chinese government.

The wide-body aircraft will bring 400 oxygen cylinders and 20 ventilators from China to Nepal. For this purpose, the corporation’s wide-body ship will depart Beijing at 11:30 AM on Monday and land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:35 PM the next day.

Dim Prakash Poudel, Managing Director of the Corporation, said that it was preparing to send a wide-bodied ship to get health supplies including oxygen cylinders from China as per the request of the Ministry of Health and Population.

“The health ministry has written to the finance ministry to bring health supplies from China. We (the corporation) have started preparations to send the aircraft,” he said. China is subsidizing 20,000 oxygen cylinders.
