Serum responds to vaccine supply, 30 tons of liquid oxygen to arrive in Nepal tomorrow

KATHMANDU: India has stated that the supply of vaccines with Nepal will continue.

Nepal Ambassador to Delhi Nilambar Acharya told Nepal Press on Friday that the vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute has responded to the intention of supplying the vaccine soon.

“They have responded positively to the imminent supply of vaccines and our initiative is continuing. India lifted restrictions on liquid oxygen exports on Thursday. We are hopeful that the vaccine will be delivered soon.” explained Acharya 

Ambassador Acharya also informed that the embassy was taking initiative with the Indian authorities for the supply of vaccines and other health items. India has yet to pay 1 million doses of covishield vaccine to Nepal.

Meanwhile, 30 tonnes of liquid oxygen will arrive in Nepal in two tankers on Saturday after India had cut off oxygen exports earlier. It is said that this amount of oxygen can fill more than 180,000 cylinders.
