Foreign tourists stuck in various districts to be allowed to enter Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Foreign tourists who were stuck in various districts due to prohibitory orders have been allowed to enter the Kathmandu Valley. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to allow people to stay in hotel quarantines as per the rules on the basis of passport and visa. 

The Ministry has also issued a circular directing all 77 district administration offices to allow foreign tourists to enter the Kathmandu Valley.

The Ministry has written to the Chief District Officers of all 77 districts on Wednesday saying that it has received information that it is difficult for foreign tourists to reach Kathmandu and foreign tourist destinations in different districts. According to Joint Secretary of Ministry Janak Raj Dahal, it has been requested to facilitate the entry of tourists with air tickets into the valley.

The prohibitory order issued in Kathmandu Valley on 29th April will remain in force till 12th May. The prohibitory period is expected to extend if the COVID infection rate does not decrease.
