Roads bustling with ID Card holders, prohibitory order appearing ineffective

KATHMANDU:  On the first day of the two-week-long lockdown by the government, hundreds of ‘identity card holders’ were seen in streets during office hours.

When the Nepal Press Team reached Ratna Park Sundhara area, hundreds of vehicles and motorcycles had blocked the road. Most of them were seen carrying identity cards of various offices.

There is a problem in traffic management after the sudden traffic jam. Thousands of people have taken to the streets as banks and financial institutions, cooperatives, government offices, media houses and those transporting essential goods including food have been loosened.

On the one hand,  due to the crowds returning to their villages from Kathmandu, traffic congestion is seen in Thankot, while on the other hand, on the first day of the lockdown, the cardholder crowd has ridiculed the ban on the vehicles in Kathmandu Valley.
