Do’s and don’ts of the lockdown

KATHMANDU: Garbage management and other means of transportation will be allowed to operate.

Vehicles can be used with the permission of the concerned ministry or department in the case of government offices and public service providers.

In the case of manpower and means of transportation of materials used in development works, vehicles can be operated only with the permission of the District Administration Office on the basis of the recommendation of the concerned project or the head of the office.

Passengers going abroad from international flights will be facilitated in case they have  air tickets, passports, visas and are going directly to the airport.

Permission issued by the District Administration Office must be obtained if a vehicle has to be used for urgent work (patients coming to the hospital and their caretakers, and in case of compulsory participation in death rites).

The general public can buy necessary food items till 10 O’clock in the morning and and from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening with a minimum physical distance of 2 meters. 

Department stores can operate from 10 am to 5 pm while maintaining physical distance.

Businesses other than food items will be closed for the time being.

Employees of the Government of Nepal, banks and financial institutions and other employees working in essential services will be allowed to come and go on the basis of the identity card issued by the office.

In case of journalists, they will be allowed to move for information collection and news publication on the basis of press pass issued by the concerned organization. 

People entering the Kathmandu Valley must stay in quarantine and home isolation prescribed by the local level.
