Lockdown will not be imposed immediately, Oli instructs cadres to work actively against COVID-19

KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has instructed the party ranks to be active in the fight against COVID-19. At the third meeting of the UML General Convention Organizing Committee, Prime Minister Oli said that the party line should be active to face the situation that may arise due to the new variant of COVID-19.

The Prime Minister and party chairman has instructed leaders and cadres of all UML structures to remain active in the fight against COVID-19. After the meeting, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, who is also the UML Spokesperson, said that the government is also making maximum efforts from its position.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli informed that the government was working to expand oxygen plants to full capacity, bring new cylinders and further expand the vaccination campaign. The meeting also discussed the government’s readiness to strictly implement health directives but not to impose a lockdown immediately.

“Lockdown is not the final solution. Therefore, we are ready to face the COVID pandemic without imposing a lockdown,” said Gyawali.
