Petrol, diesel and kerosene prices rise by 2 rupees

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petroleum products again. The price of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel (internal) has been increased by Rs. 2 with effect from 12 noon on Tuesday. Now, petrol has reached Rs. 120 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have reached Rs. 103 per liter.

The prices of aviation fuel and gas have been kept unchanged, the corporation said. The corporation argues that the price has been adjusted according to the international market price.

As the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene have gone up, the retail price of LP gas and external aviation fuel has remained unchanged, said Binit Mani Upadhyaya, Spokesperson of the corporation. Even after this price adjustment, the corporation has a loss of Rs. 127.7 million on a half-monthly basis.

Although the price of petroleum products has stabilized in the international market in recent days, the monthly loss of the corporation has been huge.
