Vaccination started in Karnali, first given to Health Director
SURKHET: Vaccination against COVID has started in nine districts of Karnali, but will begin in Dolpa district some time later. Nawaraj KC, focal person for COVID in Karnali district, said that the vaccination program was started by giving the first vaccine to the Director of Karnali Health Directorate, Dr Rabin Khadka.
Similarly, the first phase of the vaccination program in ten districts of Karnali will be given to 11,580 people. Health workers, hospital security personnel, sanitation workers, ambulance drivers, co-drivers and women health volunteers have been vaccinated in the first phase, said Khadka. According to him, 26,000 doses have come to Karnali on the basis of two doses per person due to the possibility of wastage of doses. 26,000 doses had arrived in Karnali for the first phase of vaccination.
Two thousand 781 people have been vaccinated in Surkhet, two thousand in Dailekh, one thousand 702 in Jumla, one thousand 145 in Jajarkot, one thousand 123 in Salyan, one thousand 20 in Kalikot, 547 in Mugu, 511 in Dolpa, 500 in Rukum West and 450 in Humla in the first phase.
