JSP-N Chair Thakur announces to give trust vote to PM Deuba
KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) Chairman Mahantha Thakur said that he would vote in favour of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during the vote of confidence motion.
Earlier on Saturday, Thakur along with his party leaders during a meeting with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had said that they would not vote Prime Minister Deuba when he seeks a vote of confidence in the Parliament.
Speaking at a Parliament meeting on Sunday, Thakur congratulated Prime Minister Deuba and expressed his best wishes for the successful tenure.
Expressing his grievances, Thakur said that though his party has been supporting the Prime Minister time and again in the past their demands have not been addressed yet.
“We will vote in favour of Prime Minister Deuba but the marginalized groups will not get anything,” Thakur said, adding, “Deuba was appointed as the Prime Minister from the mandamus order of the Supreme Court not from the people’s mandate.”
He said that constitution is the main reason behind inviting political uncertainty in the country.
“We have been saying that the promulgation of the new constitution was a mistake. The root of political instability in the country is this constitution,” he said.
Saying that Prime Minister Deuba had sent a letter asking for support and promised to fulfill the demand, leader Thakur said that the marginalized groups will get nothing from this constitution.
He also thanked the erstwhile KP Sharma Oli’s government for attempting to fulfill one of their demands related to citizenship.
