8 arrested for gang raping 33yo woman at New Bus Park

KATHMANDU: Eight persons have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a 33-year-old woman at a hotel in New Bus Park, Kathmandu.

SSP Sudeep Giri of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu said that they arrested the eight persons after the victim filed a complaint against them with the police on Tuesday afternoon. Later, she was taken to a hospital for a medical check-up.

It has been learnt that the victim has been living alone in Kathmandu for the past few years.

During the interrogation, the detainees confessed the crime, SSP Giri said.
