Cabinet gets full shape nearly after three months

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expanded his Cabinet on Thursday, 88 days after he was appointed as the Prime Minister. With the expansion, the Cabinet got the full shape today.

Prime Minister Deuba appointed Minendra Rijal as the Minister for Defence, Renu Yadav as Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Birodh Khatiwada as Minister for Health, Ram Kumari Jhankri as Minister for Urban Development, Devendra Paudel as Minister for Education, Dilendra Prasad Badu as Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Prem Bahadur Ale as Minister for Tourism, Uma Kanta Chaudhary as Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and Mahendra Yadav as Minister for Agriculture.

Similarly, Uma Regmi has been appointed as Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Shashi Shrestha as Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav as Minister for Forest and Environment, Krishna Kumar Shrestha as Minister for Labour and Employment and Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj as Minister for Youth and and Sports.

Non-MP Gajendra Hamal has been appointed as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies. Bhawani Prasad Khapung has been appointed as the state minister for Health and Bodh Kumari as state minister for Education.

Likewise, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has been appointed as Minister for Communication and Information and state minister for Health Umesh Shrestha has been transferred to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
