Reconstruction of Kasthamandap nears completion

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya said that the reconstruction of the Kasthamandap has reached its final stage.

Addressing a programme organised in the premises of Kasthamandap temple, Shakya thanked province lawmaker Rajesh Shakya for helping in reconstructing the temple.
Shakya, who is also the coordinator of the Kasthamandap Reconstruction Committee(KRC), said that 90 percent of the reconstruction work has been completed so far.

He said that the reconstruction work was continued by adhering to the health standards and maintaining physical distance as much as possible even during the period of lockdown.

Shakya also said that the KMC has provided Rs 115 million for the reconstruction of temple.

The Kasthamandap, which is the identity of Kathmandu Valley, is being reconstructed using modern technology. The temple was damaged in the devastating earthquake of 2015.
