House endorses government’s policies and programmes

KATHMANDU: The government’s policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 were endorsed from the Parliament amidst protest from the opposition parties on Sunday.

The main opposition Nepali Congress, which has been demanding formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the alleged involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud case, lawmakers gheraoed the rostrum today as well.

In the Parliament meeting held today, Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced that the government’s policies and programmes have been endorsed with a majority.

The Speaker called the next meeting of the Parliament at 1pm on Tuesday.
