Two nabbed for swindling foreign job aspirants of millions

KATHMANDU: Police have detained two persons for their alleged involvement in swindling people of millions of rupees with false assurances of sending them to Japan for lucrative jobs.

The arrestees have been identified as Rajan Shrestha of Lukhu, Tamakoshi-7, Ramechhap, currently residing in Kageshwori Manohara and Ishwori Pandey of Jhapa.

Police said that they have swindled more than 200 people of over Rs 30 million.

They have been cheating the people by registering the Nyoni Education Consultancy by misusing the citizenship of Nara Bahadur Rai.

The duo were operating the consultancy in the name of Narayan Bahadur Rai and Parba Raj Pandey.

Police said that they were found collecting Rs 400,000 to Rs 700, 000 per person with fake promises to send to them to Japan for study and employment.

Rai is a Pathao rider. He has given a statement to the police that he had lost his citizenship 15/16 years ago.
