JSP Minister Bhandari Lal Ahir resigns

RUPANDEHI: Janata Samajbadi Party Minister Bhandari Lal Ahir resigned from his post on Sunday after the government expressed its reluctance to appoint two ministers as per the agreement reached during the formation of the government.

Ahir, who was appointed as the Minister for Agriculture and Land Management on April 7, tendered his resignation this afternoon.

JSP Province Chairman Ashok Yadav said that they decided to quit the government after the chief minister violated the written agreement to appoint two ministers.

He, however, said that the party’s support to the government will continue.

Minister Ahir also said that he stepped down from the post as per the decision of the party.

The JSP has three lawmakers.
