Pokhara Metropolitan City sub-engineer among two caught red-handed with bribe (With video)

POKHARA: Two persons including a sub-engineer of the Pokhara Metropolitan City were red-handed while receiving a bribe from a service seeker.

A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) deployed from the Commission’s Gandaki Province Office, Pokhara arrested sub-engineer Usha Kiran Rokaya and Suraj Kunwar of the Godhar Consultancy for their alleged involvement in receiving kickback from a service seeker.

Police said that Rs 150,000 was recovered from their possession.

They had asked for Rs 150,000 for the house completion certificate.

The anti-corruption watchdog’s team nabbed Kunwar from near Mahendrapul and Rokaya from Malepatan, Pokhara.

Pokhara-5 Chairman Bishnu Prasad Baral said that a preliminary investigation into the incident is underway.

Similarly, Pokhara-4 ward member Prakash Koirala said that Rs 150,000 was recovered from a person.

The CIAA sid that they are looking into the case.
