Jokh Bahadur Mahara appointed as Chief Minister of Lumbini

RUPANDEHI: CPN (Maoist Centre) Parliamentary Party leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province.

Province Chief Amik Sherchan appointed Mahara as the Chief Minister.

He has the support of 48 lawmakers—29 of CPN-UML, 10 of Maoist Centre, four of Nagarik Unmukti Party, three of Janata Samajbadi Party, one of CPN (Unified Socialist) and one independent lawmaker.

The Office of the Province Chief said that he will be administered the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.
