Police nab ‘on the run’ former Maoist commander Kali Bahadur Kham after 15 years

KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday arrested former Maoist commander Kali Bahadur Kham.

Kham, who is accused of abducting and murdering businessman Ram Hari Shrestha, was nabbed from Thamel.

SSP Bhupendra Khatri of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu confirmed the arrest of the Maoist leader.

He was on the absconding list of the police for 15 years.

Kham is a Maoist Center leader and deputy chief of the Security Department.

Police were also searching for Kham on the charge of robbing a Chinese businessman of Yarsagumba worth Rs 50 million.
