Police nab three Chinese nationals for alleged online fraud

KATHMANDU: The District Police Office, Parsa made public three Chinese nationals for their alleged involvement in duping people through social media amid a press conference on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off that the Chinese nationals have been cheating people by renting a flat in Birgunj Metropolitan City-15 through social media, police carried out a raid in the flat on Saturday.

Police arrested two Chinese nationals from the flat.

In addition to that, police recovered hundreds of computers and electronic devices.

Police arrested one more Chinese national on Saturday itself.

The Chinese nationals and recovered electronic devices were made public at the District Police Office, Parsa today.

They have been duping the people by opening an office at the house of Nandu Patel.

According to DSP Kumar Bikram Thapa of the District Police Office, Parsa, police have recovered 120 desktop CPUs, 118 monitors, 35 mobile phones, four laptops, one printer, 26 keyboards, five internet switches, two WiFi routers and mini-inverters from the office.

The arrested Chinese nationals have been using the Indian SIM cards.
