20 National Assembly lawmakers including Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina retiring today

KATHMANDU: After completing their six-year terms, 20 National Assembly members including Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and two state ministers, who were elected in 2018, are retiring today.

The tenures of Nepali Congress lawmakers Anita Devkota, Jitendra Narayan Dev, Prakash Pantha and Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi, CPN-UML lawmakers Indu Kadariya, Deepa Gurung, Dil Kumari Rawal, Kumar Dasaundi, Narapati Luwar, Bhairav Sundar Shrestha and Ram Chandra Rai, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmakers Bina Pokharel, Mahesh Kumar Mahara and Hari Ram Chaudhary, Janata Samajbadi Party lawmakers Pramila Kumari, CPN (Unified Socialist) Party lawmaker Nanda Chapagain and Singa Bahadur Bishwokarma and Independent lawmaker Khim Lal Devkota and a nominated lawmaker is expiring today.

Pramila Kumari is the state minister for Education, Science and Technology and Nanda Chapagain state minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

The elections for 19 upper house members have already been held on January 28 and one will be nominated by the President.
