One held with 499 grams of gold from TIA

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man with 499 grams of gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The suspect has been identified as Khagendra Darji (23) of Jhapa.

TIA Customs Office Chief Tok Raj Pandey said that Darji had arrived in Kathmandu from Doha on a Himalayan Airlines flight.

The government on January 17 had deployed a team of 30-Armed Police Force (APF) personnel, under the command of an inspector, at TIA to oversee customs checks.
