TU VC appointment process suspended until further notice

KATHMANDU: The public notice calling for applications from the qualified individuals for the appointment of the Vice Chancellor in Tribhuvan University has been cancelled.

A meeting of the committee formed to select and recommend the VC of the TU held on Saturday cancelled the notice.

The issue surfaced after the provision was made that one must have worked in a position of the university for at least three years to apply for the VC post.

The process has been suspended until further notice.

Earlier, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had directed Education Minister Ashok Rai to amend the provision and issue the notice again.
