Two killed in police firing in Balkumari

KATHMANDU: Two protesters died in police firing at Balkumari in Lalitpur on Friday.

One of the deceased has been identified as Birendra Shah. The identity of another person is yet to be established.

Shah died while undergoing treatment at the Patan Hospital while breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Kist Hospital, police said.

Police opened fire after a group of youths torched the vehicle of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala this afternoon.

They set the vehicle of Minister Jwala on fire after they were not allowed to fill the form of Employment Permit System.

Police said that they are searching for other protesters.
