Three killed in Bara bus-truck collision

BARA: Three persons died and 27 others sustained injuries in a bus-truck collision in Bara on Wednesday.

The accident took place when the passenger bus (Ba 3-001 Kha 2587) en route to Kathmandu from Kakadbhitta collided head-on with the truck (Na 7 Kha 7300) in Amlekhgunj this morning.

According to Bara Police Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane, the deceased have been identified as truck driver Purna Gurung (28) of Tanahun, bus driver Hari Shumsher Suwal Thapa (40) of Hetauda, Makawanpur. One is yet to be identified, he said.

The three breathed their last while undergoing treatment in Hetauda.

Seven critically injured persons were taken to Hetauda and Chitwan Medical College for treatment, police said.

It has been learnt that 20 others are being treated in local hospitals.
