Padma Prasad Pandey appointed Acting General Secretary of Federal Parliament

KATHMANDU: House of Representatives Speaker Devraj Ghimire has given the responsibility of the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament to Padma Prasad Pandey.

Speaker Ghimire, in consultation with National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, appointed Pandey as the Acting General Secretary of the Parliament after the functioning of the Parliament was affected due to the lack of administrative leadership, the Speaker’s Secretariat said.

Speaker Ghimire and National Assembly Chairman Timilsina recommended Pandey to the post after General Secretary Dr Bharat Raj Gautam tendered his resignation on Tuesday.

Expressing concern over the delay in appointing Pandey as the General Secretary of the Parliament, Speaker Ghimire tried to contact President Ram Chandra Paudel to discuss the issue but to no avail, according to the Secretariat.
