NC hands over cheque of Rs 5 mln to PM Dahal for relief of quake-affected people

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba handed over a cheque of Rs 5 million to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday.

Deuba along with other party leaders had reached Baluwatar this morning to hand over the cheque for the relief and rescue of earthquake victims in Jajarkot and Rukum West.

The amount will be deposited to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Similarly, the party has also announced that it would provide 15 days of salary of its federal lawmakers to the quake-affected people.

An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale occurred around Ramidanda in Jajarkot district at 11:47 pm on Friday killing at least 151 people.
