School principal found dead; locals obstruct East-West Highway demanding investigation

JANAKPURDHAM: Locals and kith and kin of Sanjeeb Kumar Sah, principal of Saraswati Higher Secondary School, who was found hanging in the school, obstructed the East-West Highway saying that he was murdered.

They have been staging a demonstration at Mirchiya in Siraha since 9 am today demanding investigation and action against the guilty.

Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded mid-way due to the demonstration.

Principal Sah was found hanging in the third floor of the under construction building of the Jamadaha-based school in Golbazaar Municipality-3 on Sunday morning.

According to police, he had sent his assistant to buy a recharge card prior to the incident.

As both his feet had touched the ground, the incident is considered suspicious.

His wife Mina Kumar Sah said she would immolate herself if the culprit is not taken action by carrying out a fair investigation.

“There was no dispute in the house,” she said, adding, “Sir (husband) was under more pressure since the establishment of the School Management Committee.”

Mirchiya Municipality-6 Ward Chairman Pradeep Mahaseth claimed that principal Sah was murdered.

Mina Kumar, who has also been taking part in the protest, said the guilty should be punished.
