T20 International Triangular Series: Nepal defeat UAE by seven wickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal registered a seven-wicket win against the UAE in the inaugural match of the T20 International Triangular Series at the Mulpani Ground in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

After being invited to bat first, the UAE posted 140 runs losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Nepal reached the target of 141 runs in 18.5 overs losing three wickets.

Captain Rohit Paudel scored unbeaten 51 runs and Dipendra Singh Airee 34. Asif Sheikh made 23 runs, Kushal Bhurtel 14 and Kushal Malla 11 runs.

Basil Hamid scored highest 51 runs for the UAE. Similarly, Ali Naseer contributed 32 runs.

Karan KC took three wickets, Gulshan Jha two and Sompal Kami and Abhinas Jha one wicket each for Nepal.
