Nepal Rastra Bank starts distributing new notes for Dashain (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has started distributing new banknotes to the general public for Dashain festival from Monday.

The new notes have a special importance in Dashain, which is considered as a festival of eating delicious food and wearing new clothes.

People have started queuing up in the Rastra Bank in Baluwatar since early morning to exchange old banknotes with the fresh banknotes for the festival.

The people can exchange the new notes of Rs 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 and 1000 denominations.

The Nepal Rastra Bank has allowed each person to obtain lower and higher denomination notes of up to Rs 18,500.

The new notes can also be exchanged from other banks, financial institutions and provincial offices.
