Five Nepalis go missing after flash floods in Sikkim (With name list)

BIRATNAGAR: Five persons of Ilam Municipality-9, Nepal, who had reached North Sikkim of India in course of work, have gone missing.

They have gone missing following landslides and flash floods in Sikkim.

The District Administration Office, Ilam said that they have not come into contact with the family members after the flash floods and landslides.

Chief District Officer Shrawan Kumar Pokharel of Ilam said that they went missing from the Lachen area of North Sikkim.

They had gone to build a monastery in Lachen, CDO Pokharel said.

The missing persons have been identified as Sen Bahadur Karki, Lakpa Sherpa, Nara Maya Basnet, Kumar Basnet and Khusi Basnet of Golakharka, Ilam-9.

They have not come into contact with the family members since October 4.

Pokharel said that they are searching for the missing persons in coordination with the Sikkim police.
