NC urges government to protect lives of Nepalis in Israel

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress has urged the government to immediately rescue Nepalis trapped in Israel and start the ground work to bring them back home.

Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has drawn serious attention of the government towards the incident that around a dozen Nepalis were injured in the attacks in various places of Israel and some were held captive by the attackers.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, the Nepali Congress has urged the government to protect the lives of Nepalis by finding out the exact number of Nepalis in Israel.

The party has also urged the government to make immediate diplomatic initiatives to take them to safer places and rescue them at the earliest.

The Congress has also urged all the friendly countries, international human rights organisations, International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and International Red Cross Committee among others to create an environment for the rescue of Nepalis working in Israel.

The party has appealed to the Nepalis in difficulties to contact the Nepali Embassy in Israel and Nepali Public Relations Committee for the necessary help.
