Two school children killed in Dhading truck hit

DHADING: Two school children died after being hit by a truck at Majuwa in Malekhu of Gajuri Rural Municipality-2, Dhading.

DSP Santulal Prasad Jaisawar of the District Police Office, Dhading said that Nirmal Shrestha and Sanjeeb Shrestha of Siddhalek Rural Municipality-6 died on the spot after they were hit by the truck.

The truck (Pradesh o2-001 Kha 6413) was heading towards Chitwan from Kathmandu when the incident occurred this morning.

Both the children were the eighth graders at the Bageshwori Secondary School.

Following the incident, irate locals obstructed the Prithvi Highway demanding compensation.

Meanwhile, police have arrested truck driver Ashok Bamjan (41) of Chandrapur Municipality-2, Rautahat for investigation.
